Switch SR 5
The switch is an active network component for the cross-linking of up to 5 terminals with an Ethernet interface (10/100 MBit/s). It is intended as row installed equipment (REG) for the assembly in the electrical distribution on the DIN rail of a junction box (e. g. KVK).
It is suitable optimally for the reconstruction of smaller and middle network installations within the private sector and in the small commercial installations.
The switch is arbitrarily expandable without losses in the efficiency. It does not need any control elements for the user or Installer. The switch leads a received packet purposefully to the participant or the participant net, for whom it is intended, because it processes destination addresses. Thus the net is relieved and usually faster. With unknown destination address the switch sends a the data to all participants like a hub. Each of the five ports works independently with a speed of 10 MBit/s or 100 MBit/s in the half or full-duplex enterprise.
The switching takes place automatically. The data rate depends on the attached terminal and is automatically recognized (auto sensing) and switched (auto negotiation) by the switch. Errors at the ports are recognized by the switch and the port concerned is switched off automatically (auto partitioning).
The switch works according to the "store-and-forward-principle", i.e. the received data is buffered in the device and checked on completeness, before it is passed on. Damaged data is not passed on.
Each port has three LEDs, in order to indicate the respective status.
The switch is fed from the 230-V-AC voltage.
